Introduction
The chart is the primary workspace for any technical trader. Mastering the charting interface on DXtrade allows you to visualize price action clearly and apply your trading strategies with precision. This lesson, the first of a two-part series, focuses on the fundamentals of opening charts, customizing their appearance, and utilizing the various built-in tools to enhance your market analysis.
Opening a New Chart
There are two quick ways to open a chart for any instrument:
-
Watchlist Method: Simply click on a specific instrument within your watchlist, and its chart will open immediately.
-
Search Bar Method: Use the search bar at the top of the platform, type in the name of the instrument (e.g., "AUDUSD"), and select it from the results to load the chart.
Navigating the Chart Toolbar
Once a chart is open, you can maximize it for a better view. The top toolbar contains essential trading and data functions:

-
Classic Candlesticks: The standard for most technical analysis.
-
Bar Graphs: Provides a similar data set to candles with a different visual style.
-
Line Graphs: Useful for identifying long-term trends and closing prices.and more
Utilizing Drawing Tools
Technical analysis often requires marking up the chart. You can access drawing tools from the top "Drawings" menu or the sidebar:
-
Available Tools: Includes trend lines, arrows, ovals, rectangles, and more.
-
Customization: For any tool you draw, you can right-click to adjust its color, thickness, and coordinates.
-
Favorites: Use the "Star" icon to favorite your most-used tools for quicker access. You can also hide or delete all drawings from the sidebar menu.
Adding Technical Indicators
To help make informed decisions, you can add built-in indicators directly to your chart:
-
Navigate to the Indicator Settings.
-
Choose from common tools like Moving Averages, RSI, or Bollinger Bands. These will overlay on your price action or appear in a separate pane below.
Multi-Chart Layouts and Snapshots
DXtrade offers advanced features for monitoring multiple markets simultaneously:
-
Multi-Chart Feature: Select layouts to view up to three or more charts at once (e.g., BTCUSD, US30, and NAS100) on a single screen.
-
Snapshot Feature: If you need to save your analysis or share it with others, use the snapshot tool to either download the chart as an image or copy it to your clipboard.
This lesson covers the initial setup of your workspace. In Part 2, we will go deeper into the specific chart settings to further personalize your trading experience.
